Agricultural extension is the application of scientific research and knowledge to agricultural practices through farmer education.

Generally,

agricultural extension can be defined as the “delivery of information inputs to farmers.

This can be done by various method but I will want to restrict myself to the center point of the topic.

AGRICULTURAL MANAGEMENT Agricultural management is the making and implementing of the decisions involved in organizing and operating a farm for maximum production and profit.

Let's patiently look into the role of these two sectors.....

The role of extension services is invaluable in teaching farmers how to improve their

productivity.

Extension is also critical to move research from the lab to the field and to ensure a return on investment in research by translating new knowledge into innovative practices.

Agricultural extension plays a crucial role in boosting agricultural productivity, increasing food security, improving rural livelihoods, and promoting agriculture as an engine of pro-poor economic growth. 

Extension provides a critical support service for rural producers meeting the new challenges confronting agriculture: transformation in the global food and agricultural system, including the rise of supermarkets and the growing importance of standards, labels, and food safety; growth in nonfarm rural employment

and agribusiness; constraints imposed by HIV/AIDS and other health challenges that

affect rural livelihoods; and the deterioration of the natural resource base and climate change.

Let's briefly look into the role of agricultural management Agricultural management draws on agricultural economics for information on prices,

markets, agricultural policy, and economic institutions such as leasing and credit. It also draws on plant and animal sciences for information on soils, seed, and fertilizer, on control of weeds, insects, and disease, and on rations and breeding; on agricultural engineering for information on farm buildings, machinery, irrigation, crop drying, drainage, and erosion control systems; and on psychology and sociology for information on human behaviour.

In making his decisions, a farm manager thus integrates information from the biological, physical, and social sciences.

These informations are gathered to enhance the growth of any agricultural establishment that promotes the economy of our nation.

As an agricultural Manager, the growth and the development of agriculture is their

paramount task.

Agricultural Manager is the pillar of any agricultural establishment.

They looks into the smooth running of a farm both in policy, financial, marketing.etc 

Boycotting any of these individual leads to a great disaster.

For example, at a great extent is agricultural extension has been neglected in our country and this has brought an havoc to the development of agriculture in our nation.

The farmers are not aware of innovations and technical known how, thank God for social media that only helps the learned, it would have been a serious issue more than this.

But it has been a great havoc to the unlearned.

The set of people that are now working as the extension agent now are those that cajole the farmers, telling them they are ready to buy their products after planting, meanwhile, it's a means of selling their products to the farmer either the seeds, fertilizers or any agro chemical.

None of the government agricultural institution employs an extensionist since the last OSADEP recruitment many years ago.

Impersonation is another challenge, when a technogist or a researcher tends to call

himself an extensionist or a manager.

Which cannot give an accurate result as expected in both information dissemination and proper management as expected Government attitude to these sectors is very bad and this is seriously affecting Agro growth in our nation.

For example, an agricultural Management sector would have foreseen the downfall of cashew market that is coming down now.
