Ondo Senator, Akinyelure pushes for Upgrade of Adeyemi college to varsity of education

History was made on Thursday 5th December, 2019 as Distinguished Senator Ayo Akinyelure representing Ondo Central Senatorial District formally laid a bill for the upgrade of Adeyemi college of education to Adeyemi University of education Ondo the bill which has scaled through the first reading has been slated for second reading with the hope of an early passage into law by the 9th Senate of the federal republic of Nigeria.

VAM recall that the previous pronouncement by the former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan's led administration was a mere executive order which was later reversed. 

The efforts being made by Senator Ayo Akinyelure to sponsor a bill for an Act to establish the Adeyemi University will finally put to rest the long years of agitation by the education loving people of Ondo State and Nigeria at large.

Adeyemi University of education is envisioned to be a training ground for teaching and promotion of high level qualitative education that is set to meet the 21st century standard.

In a statement signed by Mr. Samuel Alo, RFA, SLA to the Distinguished Senator Dr. Ayo Akinyelure, FCA says It’s the hope of Dist. Senator Akinyelure that all well meaning people of the state would turn out enmass, when the bill is formally slated for public hearing.

Quality education is non negotiable and should be accessible to all Nigerians, the Senator added.
