NAPS lauds 9th Assembly for passing the bill that establish federal polytechnic Orogun

The leadership of National Association of Polytechnic Student  (NAPS), under the leadership of Activist Sunday A. Asuku as the national president commend the leadership of 9th Senate Assembly, he Made the declaration today after brief meeting with the representative of Kaduna Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Mrs Rosemary Kato the deputy rector as the Rector Prof. I M Bugaje is on his annual leave. 

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege(Deputy Senate President) who is the sponsor of the bill explained that he sponsored the bill in response to constituents’ yearnings.

He said:

        “The polytechnic Orogun is conceived as an institution for academic excellence in the fulfilment of the Federal Government’s policy of establishing at least one federal polytechnic in every state of the federation.

The president in his words said the establishment of Orogun Polytechnic will not only create employment opportunities for the teaming youth but serve as an avenue for youth within the region to have access to quality Education. 

He also said the establishment will further strengthen our technology sector most especially this trying time when president Muhammadu Buhari closes the boder, The only way Nigerians will patronize locally made goods is when we have good technicians and Engineers to strengthen the technology sector which is the primary motive of establishing Polytechnic. 

In a statement signed by Activist Sunday A. Asuku (GCNPS), NAPS NATIONAL PRESIDENT ELECT also used  the medium to call on the 9th assembly to revisit or pass the bill for proper funding of Polytechnics in Nigeria as this will make our institutions to withstand the test of time and compete with there counterpart In the world while commending the 9th assembly he also assured  Nigeria Polytechnic students of his readiness to deliver them from shackles of oppressors and tyrants.
