THE LAUREL OF LAUTECH: A QUINTESSENTIAL PHENOMENON
From the formation of our great country, some Nigerians have remained exceptional.
They have indeed advanced the progress of our dear country, leaving an undeniable Impact in the lives of Nigerians and the world at large.
Join us today as we introduce you to a hero in our time, although young in age but old in thoughts; Abiodun Oluwaseun A.K.A Laurel.
He is the Students Union President of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho.
LAUTECH was associated with a lot of instability which was a result of cultism and other social vices.
The woes of cultism was cutting lives and dreams. Bodies were patterned with marks of matchetes, many hitmen in gory missions.
The violent Students were hitting hard on the stability of the institution which constantly dumped our Academic activities in jeopardy.
The stars were gradually withdrawing it's light, the sun was becoming darkened and the moon on exile.
Just at the centre of our illness, the Laurel of LAUTECH arrived.
Abiodun Oluwaseun won the MTN Foundation Scholarship in 2015, as an advocate of Justice, he doesn't keep shut to oppressors; and has ever remain a solace to the weakened, oppressed and Voiceless.
He belongs to the Libra Advocacy and Liberal Movement in LAUTECH. He is an Aisecer, a YALI fellow and a member of many Noble groups.
Earlier, we aforementioned some ills LAUTECH encountered, but now LAUTECH is broadened with the chance to be initiated into land of achievers, students are now being showered with marks of excellence, emitting intellectual perfumery.
Today, LAUTECH is the best State University in Nigeria with current strides in development and ICT advancement. Laurel is changing the Narratives, although was criticized but has revived Students Unionism in the institution which is a very great feat that deserves some accolades.
Some of his achievements are outlined below:
* Successfully led the SUG team that achieved reduction of tuition fee from the proposed N300,000/N350,000 across board to N140/150,000 for 100l, N120/150,000 for 200l and N90/100,000 for 300-500l respectively.
* Stable Academic calendar
* Advocacy
* Students unionism
* Welfare of LAUTECH students
* ICT
* Entrepreneurship
* LAUTECH Alumni scholarship scheme
* Development strides in the institution
Etc.
Indeed the Laurel of LAUTECH is a quintessential phenomenon and should be emulated by leaders across Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa and the entire globe.
