YOSEMA flags off Distribution of Food, Non Food items to over 20,000 people across the state

YOSEMA has flagged off the distribution of food and non food items to over 20,000 vulnerable people across the State, VAM News Reports.

This was contained in a press release by the Executive Secretary of SEMA Dr. Mohammed Goje and made available to journalists in Damaturu.


This support is among the various initiatives by the administration of His Excellency, THE Executive Governor OF Yobe state Hon. Mai Mala Buni. In line with the State recovery plan aimed at providing immediate food and other livelihood items to stabilize the most affected households that are devastated by the 2019 flooding across the state.


According to the Statement, the flag off which is tagged "GOV. BUNI LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT PROJECT" will be done at Damagum in Fune Local Government while the State wide distribution will continue in earnest.


SEMA had earlier trained 178 volunteers across the state for the effective execution of the exercise.


Goje in the statement said the intervention is coming when the population in the state is in dire need of food due to the recent flood devastation that bedevilled the more than half of the local government areas in the state. 


YOSEMA also called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the items and continue to pray for the administration of Gov. Mai Mala Buni for the overall development of Yobe State.


On Monday 14th October, 2019 Yobe State Emergency Management Agency has flagged off State wide Livelihood support in Damagum of Fune Local Government tagged "GOVERNOR BUNI LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT PROJECT”. 



The Support will involve providing immediate food and nonfood items to the identified targeted vulnerable households across the 178 political wards in the state with an estimated over 20,000 household to be supported.
