Ogun gov hailed for reinstating sacked teachers


The recent reinstatement of teachers sacked by the immediate past administration of Ogun State has been described as a morale booster for teachers and best strategy to return the education in the state to an enviable height.


A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Ogbeni Akano Yaya Kayode, who praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for the reinstatement, condemned the bad treatment meted out to teachers by the last administration.

He said: “All bad educational policies of the last administration adversely affected teachers. Many of the teachers resigned their appointments out of frustration. Many worked without concentration. And the losers were our children who were not properly taught. Sincerely, the policies really hampered the development of education in the state”.


He commended Governor Abiodun for the promotion of teachers who had been denied same for many years, ongoing massive renovation of public schools and payment of running costs to public schools.

He praised the governor’s demonstration of friendliness and unwavering commitment to educational development at all levels, adding that with the leadership style of the governor, good governance would now be experienced in the state.

He appealed to the teachers and other stakeholders in the education sector to reciprocate the good gestures of the governor by giving their best in the discharge of their duties and supporting the state government efforts to return the education sector to its enviable position.
