Int’l Day Of Girl Child: NGOs Canvass Equal Right For Girls in Osun




On October 11th, 2019 Nigerians join the rest of the world to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, The NGOs, Youth For Human Rights International in Osun State wants the society to uphold the equal rights, voices and influence of girls in our families, communities and nations, VAM News Reports.


In a symposium held at various Schools are; 
Saint Charles high school, Oke Ayepe, Osogbo on 9th October,
Prime college, Kobo area osogbo, 10th October,
Unity/Fakunle mega schools, Stadium area osogbo on 11th October to mark the day in Osun state.


Members of the Association are Queen Fisayo, Miss tourism West Africa, the initiator of queenstouch global initiatives emphasized, that Girls can be powerful agents of change, right to privacy and nothing should keep them from participating fully in all areas of life particularly the right to Education.


Youth For Human Rights International condemns in strong terms, say no to Suicide.


The NGOs therefore, encourages  girls to learn about the United Nations and how to get on with others. Our parents can choose what we learn.


On the theme for the 2019 commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child, which is “Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable”, the youths for Human rights say, nothing should stop the girl child from reaching their goals in life and fulfilling their destiny.


Our conversations with hundreds of girls in Prime College, Osogbo has remarkably left me with no other impression than that girls are unscripted and unstoppable. 

Students, One For All Initiative and Fisayo

With the YHRI Souvenirs, educating them about their fundamental Human Rights and teaching them how to speakout on abuses because right implies a claim was what Babawale of OneForAll Initiative did.

In a friendly and emotional interactive session, Queen Fisayo dissected sexual and gender based violence as a cogent case study. 


It’s was indeed an encounter of motivation with young girls as the NYCN Osun Chairman took over the counseling session in the local dialect for good relational talks.


The statement reaffirmed, that gone are the days when male children are given priority over the girls noting with satisfaction, that most families now understand that the girl child is a blessing and asset to them.


The NGOs also, reechoed the need for the distribution of Youth for Human Rights, 40 Rights. 30 Ads. Book, free of charge to the young school girls present at the sensitization venue.

The International Day of the Girl Child is an international observance day declared by the United Nations; it is also called the Day of Girls and the International Day of the Girl. October 11, 2012, was the first Day of the Girl Child.
