Just after a publicized 3months pension verification exercise was conducted in Imo state where it is alleged that over N426 million was spent in the verification exercise, report has it that the Imo state governor; Chief Emeka Ihedioha today; 17th October, 2019 in a broadcast has promised pensioners in Imo state that he will be paying them 2months pension arrears.

From the records and schedule of payment made available to banks, the said payment is going to be 50% payment instead of a hundred percent paid by previous administrations though in installments.

An eighty-one years old pensioner who gave his name as Dr. Clement Ofoegbula while expressing shock via the governor's disappointing broadcast said this to VAM Correspondent:

The two Months Emeka Ihedioha wants to pay, is from Arrears Owed or is it from 5months He is Owing since inception of His Government?

The 5.8billion EFCC claimed they stopped from being diverted was meant for Pension Arrears.

Let the Government tell us if the 2 months they claimed to have paid was paid from the 5.8billion, so we know where to place the payment properly.

Emeka Ihedioha cannot use money meant for Pension Arrears to Service His Government's payment of Pensioners and then turn around to blame Past Administration for Pension Arrears.

Emeka Ihedioha should not in anyway Criticise or blame the last Administration for Pension Arrears reason because it's on record that the money was not diverted or embezzled. Emeka Ihedioha inherited the money. He acknowledged it. EFCC also confirmed the money was stopped from being diverted, Dr. Clement explained.
