Tensions at Yobe State University as Students affairs disqualified Barde from SUG Presidential race extra judicially

Yobe state University is facing the SUG 2020 election process which is very much patronized by the students via campaigns and hails on social media handles. Among the aspirants is one Sulaiman Barde who have been in students leadership within and outside Yobe state.

Accusations and counter accusations started to flood social media joints of the University students over disqualifying the candidature of Comrade Suleiman Barde. VAM News get the chance to interview Barde

VAM: Can you please te ll us your name and your student's struggle experience?

Barde: I'm formally and popularly known as Suleiman Ibrahim Barde  as students and youths activist, I've served under different platforms as not only a member but a leader. Out of which I was a one time Nat. Director of welfare to the NUYOSS, Regional Fin. Sec. N/E to the NAPSS, and the incumbent Regional Coordinator N/E of NAPSS etcetera.

VAM: We've seen some letters going online on your disqualification in the just concluded SUG election, how true is that?.

Barde: The election is yet to come, its only screening the ELCOM held... Im eligible to contest, based on the guidelines make public by the students affairs division through the ELCOM. to my own surprise I was disqualified without any letter from the ELCOM that I'm charged with any offence. And not even explanations on the disqualification.

VAM: What is your next step now that you are disqualified.?

Barde: It sounds disheartening that this sort of things are prevailing in an academic institution. As a student of knowledge, I'll pursue my complaint to the concerned authority and request for the validity and explanation on the ground of my disqualification which I have no knowledge on. I'm very sure the authority will work on it and provide an appropriate panacea to the issue.

VAM: What is your massage to the students and general populace?

Barde: My message to the general public and the students of this citadel of learning is that; we shouldn't cloud our thoughts with fear. We should be vigilant of any dirty process we are seeing in the society and determined to rectify it. The society is ours and nobody will come to our succor if we are not determined restructure and bring sanity into all the processes. Let us all contribute towards the healthy growth of all and sundry, otherwise, the posterity will judge us harshly.

Despite the judgment of the ELCOM, Comrade Barde has the hope for the race.

Also,  Barde said he's making sure no any violence or skirmish will accur from his side and his team..
