PRESS RELEASE BY COMRADE OLADOJA OLUSHOLA, AKA LADOJA NANS, ON THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE CONVENTION OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS), ZONE A, ON 25 AUGUST 2019
Indefatigable comrades, distinguished and ever-committed Nigeria students, reliable stakeholders of NANS, management and authorities of all tertiary institutions in NANS Zone A, supportive parents, prolific ladies and gentlemen of the press, my fellow dogged Nigerians, greetings to you.
I am ecstatic today over the successful conclusion of the NANS Zone A convention. The event which held at Pantanami Stadium in Gombe revealed the resolve and commitment of Nigerian students to strengthening the agency of NANS as a student organisation, by displaying proper conduct throughout the convention and election proceedings, obtained by VAM.
I wholeheartedly congratulate the leadership of NANS, under the distinguished leadership of Comrade Danielson Bamidele Akpan (GCNS), for facilitating and ensuring a remarkable convention, which also saw the emergence of a new leadership for NANS Zone A through a free, fair, and transparent election process. Under your leadership, you have demonstrated that there is still hope for Nigeria; that NANS and Nigerian students who also double as youths in the country are a reflection of that hope. Your poise and commitment to accountable, credible, and trust-worthy processes of electing leaderships in NANS is highly commendable. You have truly displayed that you are the difference that is different. Congratulations!
Additionally, I congratulate the new leadership of NANS Zone A, led by Comrade Zakari Hashim, over his emergence as the new Coordinator of the zone. Your victory is a reflection of the trust and believe that students in the zone have in your capacity and pedigree to lead. While your position wields power, I urge you to effectively use of this office to engage and mobilise constructive actions that will favour students in tertiary institutions in the zone.
The journey through this process of leadership will be faced with hurdles; however, these hurdles are ephemeral to the success that will accomplished if you stay focused and committed to the task. Hence, I employ you to extend a hand of fellowship to other contestants by running an inclusive government that will display a true representation of the Nigerian students and not an agenda of self-aggrandisement. I am optimistic that you will do well because your track record portrays you as a leader per-excellence, and I believe that your wealth of experience will be adapted into your leadership style for the rest of your tenure.
Conclusively, I salute all students who made the trip to this convention. The convention’s success is incomplete without your participation and commitment. The resources and presence that you have contributed are important to institutionalising the outcomes that were achieved during the convention. I was delighted to meet you all, and some of you in person. I continue to extend my kind wishes to you as I wish you safe travels back to your respective destinations and success in your academic pursuits. Importantly, I admonish that we conduct ourselves properly and continue to be good ambassadors of Nigerian students and youth in our respective institutions of learning and various environments that we find ourselves. Let us also continue to pray for our dear country, Nigeria, and ask for the Almighty God’s interventions in the complexities that affects us during these trying times. Nigeria will continue to stand tall and stay strong and united.
God bless you!
God bless NANS!!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
Signed
Comrade Oladoja Olushola
AKA Ladoja NANS
