Governor Ihedioha takes campaign to IMSU, students frown

-Presents candidate for SUG Presidency

-Urges students to support him in case of Rerun

Just now, our reporter in Imo state University filed a report announcing the presence of the Imo state Governor; Emeka Ihedioha in Imo state University, Owerri.

GOV. IHEDIOHA TAKES CAMPAIGN TO IMSU, STUDENTS

Report has it that the Governor had earlier called on his students campaign group to mobilize enough students at the Clement Owunna Garden inside the school to await his arrival. 

Students of different departments were seen gathering at the garden since 7:30am this morning and the arrival of the Governor and efforts made by those students in getting other passerbys to cheer the governor informed all suspecting beings why the gathering was earlier instituted.

The governor in his words begged the students to support his government in making Imo better. He further urged the students to support one Comr. Alfred Chimaobi Promise also known as Active to emerge as Students' Union Government (SUG) President in the forthcoming IMSU SUG Election.

Gov. Ihedioha also told the students that about four different guber aspirants took him to court, challenging his declaration but that he is confident that the students will do everything within their powers to support him in a case of rerun or runoff.

"I expect you all to defend me on social media at all times...if you support me, I will maintain the free education policy you all are enjoying", infant, my predecessor didn't do anything meaningful for 8 years but I have come to rebuild, Gov. Ihedioha promised.

Many were shocked that the governor whose party; the peoples democratic party (PDP) during the campaigns said there was nothing like free education program in Imo state is now acknowledging that Imo state university students (indigenes) have been enjoying the free education.

In the same vein, some students weren't comfortable with the open campaign the governor and his students campaign coordinator are professing in support of a particular candidate because of sentiment.

Before the governor left the school premises, he handed a fat envelop to his student coordinator to do share the content amongst his supporters, an exercise that nearly took the lives of many as stampede, beating and dragging turned nearly an hour culture before security men intervened immediately the governor left.

From different quarters of students assembly around the campus, opinions are that the governor goofed for coming to speak against a man that gave them free education for 8 years and campaigning to force a candidate for SUG presidency down their throat.
