Student welfarism

It is getting close to 4years when Student union Government were  disbursed due to one stupid reasons that the management carries here and there. The present administration of Student Union were told that 2015/2016 set said mgt should stop collection of Union due which was a fabricated lie. It happened that, the 2015 SUG union requested to know the break down of the amount that entered for union and the sharing formular across departments and institutes because the money is paid directly to the polytechnic accounts. The management took it beyond normality and stopped disbursement of union dues, all to satisfy their self interest till now which has been affecting the SUG of 2016/2017/2018/2019 till date.Now the present SUG need  money to run a perfect  administration  but no dime is given and life becomes difficult for kwarapoly unionism.

Hostel allocation

Same year 2015/2016,hostel was shutdown which has been a risk of life for students outside the campus. Kwarapoly hostel can accomodate  thousands of students but now,senior lecturers built houses at eleko,Ara,Akuo,yakuba and many places around school area to generate money from students.sooner or later the institute of technology will be merged together in permanent site without making any provision for their accomodation. Students strive to secure accommodation even in an insecure environment. We are begging you "Government of the day" to find urgent solution to this hostel case as beneficent students will be delighted if not all.

Tricycle must move round

Some years back,tricycles and motorcycles moved round the departments in School to ease stresses  but 2years ago,usage of motorcycle abused this rapid transportation  by using Okada to operate badly. The management had to stop both tricylce and motorcycle for security reason. Students pleaded that management should allow tricycle back (keke napep) on campus to circulate as usual,the management insisted NO. We all know universities(Unilorin,kwasu,college of education,polytechnics and colleges of education allow tricycles why kwarapoly!!!! Students have agreed the banned of motorcyle Okada why Keke Napep again

 We have many handicap that could not trek very well,not all lecturers have car,students run/trek and collapse easily during exams/test. 

Please government come to our aid,students of kwarapoly are suffering,dying and getting frustrated

Security

Kwara state polytechnic is not a Sambisa forest batalion of solidiers will now be at the School gate,under trees,hiding some where and operate with fear,carrying gun along and beating students as if academic environment is a jail. Students are not free to move at their pace. Nobody is saying security is not important but tolerance,embracement,proper monitoring and other maintenance  .

Shortage of academic Staff

It is very serious here where a lecturer teaches all levels (HND1,2,ND1,2)of different departments that is still minor. About 50academic staffs retired  in one institute which they were sentforth recently with no single replacement rather still creating more departments aiming to multiply duties of lecturers that are not sufficient to take over the existing courses.

With all these great job the staff are going through,no compensation,no allowances(marking,supervision and entitlements)

Salary Scale

Kwara state polytechnic Salary is one the poorest among others. The fact that they make their payments every 25th of every month,shouldn't lower lectures salary.infact,what the management pay is just  82% of their supposed salary with no entitlements and right of lecturers(Allowances) 

Appointment of staff and  promotion activities

Appointment of staff,directors,Heads of departments and promotions of staff are not seniority and academic status/standard but  so bias,partial and tribalistic . Many situations where unregistered member head  departments or institute. A supposed promotion for one year will now be delayed for 3years all because of selfishness. 

If 3 conferences could make you promote in a year,only one will be approved in Kwarapoly! Same as other two following years  before one can be promoted in the 3rd year. This reduces the strength of lecturers' academic performance.

If you say government has not been paying kwarapoly subvention ,what of KWASU!!

They have SUG bus if faulty always repaired

If you say their school fees is far more than kwarapoly,are they as populous as kwarapoly? School of over 40,000students. KWARA POLY NEEDS GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION. PLEASE COME IN. MANAGEMENT ONLY KEEP SAYING NO MONEY,HOW ARE THEY MANAGING OUR MONEY!!!!
