NASS SPEAKERSHIP: youth and students throw support for HON. Femi Gbajabiamila
BEING A PRESS STATEMENT ISSUED BY COALITION OF YOUTHS AND STUDENTS IN SUPPORT OF HON. FEMI GBAJABIAMILA’S ASPIRATION AS THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRSENTATIVES IN THE 9TH NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.
“Our lives begin to end the day we keep mute on those things that matters to us”
This press statement is issued to set the records straight and portray the real image of Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the leading, most qualified and most favourite candidate for the prestigious office of the speaker of the House of Representatives for the 9th Assembly received by VAM News.
May I called the attention of the public to the activities of some fifth columnists, their collaborators and their sponsors alike, who have been peddling falsehood against the distinguished personality of the majority leader of the House of Representatives, it is instructive to note also that why Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has been busy touring the nocks and crannies of this country campaigning for his election as the speaker of the House of Representatives, his traducers on the other hand has find solace in chasing idle dreams, employing the weapon of blackmail, using faceless groups and association to issue unintellectual, unverifiable, incoherent and watery statements, in their unpatriotic bid to cause dissatisfaction between the distinguished Honourable Gbajabiamila and his colleagues in the National Assembly who have hitherto resolved to elect and support him as the next Speaker for the 9th National Assembly.
It should be noted that Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has been member of the House of Representatives for four (4) Consecutive terms and contested for the Speakership position in the outgoing 8th Assembly where he narrowly lost to the outgoing Speaker and he conceded defeat in a mature democratic manner. A decision that earned him the enviable position of the Majority Leader of the House.
It is a reality that every positive change comes with its own price, we as Nigerians and Nigerian citizens have a moral duty to stand by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila in paying this golden price in liberating the National Assembly without minding the ulterior motives of his traducers and their collaborators.
We don’t need to start introducing Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila to the Nigerian public any-longer, as his name remain a household name, through his commitment, loyalty and humble participation in the polity of this country. His character towards democratic process has been unparalleled, as his participation in the last leadership election that ushers in the outgoing speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara was a clear demonstration of his respect for the people.
This time around, he has seen reasons to visit all the stakeholders in the country without leaving any stone untouched. In a realistic bid to reach out to the entire three hundred and sixty (360) members that composed the Green Chambers.
It is evidentially clear that the distinguished Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila is sufficiently prepared to lead the 9th National Assembly as Speaker, with him at the helm of affairs, we are rest assured as Nigerians that our Country will spontaneously achieve Unity, as he posses exceptional ability to install egalitarian value in the polity of Nigeria.
We don’t need a century to effect a change, all we need is effective preparation to provoke unusual transformation.
