NANS ZONE C in conjunction with IFMCares Visits Hope International Motherless Babies Home, Idofian

The NANS Zone C PRO together with the President of Integrity Family  Ministries visted Hope International Motherless Babies Home on the 11th of May, 2019.

They went together with  few other students. VAM News confirmed that the program was anchored by  Comr.Aina Babatunde (Deputy Chief of Staff, NANS Zone C).

They were warmly received on their arrival at the Motherless Babies Home. The staff who welcomed them on board was Mrs. Marvelous Akano. The delegate at the orphanage home include; Adebayo Kayode (NANS Zone C, PRO),Adeniyi Femi (IFM President), Aina Babatunde (Deputy Chief of Staff, NANS Zone C), Ashaolu David(SUG President COED ORO), Eunice, Fabiyi Oluwabunmi(IFM Treasurer), Onoye Blessing (IFM Director of Project),  Adebayo Yomi (SA Sport, NANS Zone C), and Miss Afolayan Oluwakemi.

The other staff of the Motherless Babies Home were ‘Iya beji’ and ‘Mummy Ola’ as they are popularly called.
Mrs Akano was standing in for the Administrators since they were not present at that time. 

She said there are five categories of children in their orphanage home, they are:
Paternal Orphans: These are the children that has lost their fathers.

Maternal Orphans: These are the children who has lost their mothers.

Both Orphans: These are the children who has lost both parents.

The Abandoned: These are the children that were found along the roadside, in the bush path or brought in by the police of which their parents are unknown.

The Mentally Retarded: These are the mentally challenged set.
She mentioned that presently the population of children in their home numbers up to 63, which includes all the categories earlier mentioned, which also include; babies,  teenagers and adults.
She talked about some testimonies they’ve had so far since the inception of the home. One was about a child who was brought in newly and was found to be HIV Positive, but with a lot of fasting prayer and treatment, today the child in HIV Negative and is living normally. The other one is of a mentally retarded adoptees, after giving intensive treatment she is now fully normal and has been established within the camp.

She further mentioned some of their challenges, which includes: a big bus to conveniently convey children during occasions, excursions and other programs, a big and well eqipped hall for the children, and also finances, although people bring in gifts but there are still other things needed.

Afterwards the IFM President, gave a talk on love, it’s author being God and the need to show love to others, he further commended the effort of the care givers and pray god blesses them as they show love to the children.

In the same vein, the NANS Zone C PRO  appreciated the effort of all the staff for their labour over the children. He said he’ll like to come up with a program that will cater for orphans and crusade a better life for them sooner. He said as long as it is in his power he’ll always make it a date to the orphanage home annually. He forged ahead by saying the reincarnation of the orphans back to contemporary society will be a blessing, with their existence the future of Nigeria is promising.
And the time came for the children to catch fun,  it was anchored Miss Afolayan Oluwakemi, the session was fascinating. Then the representatives also had a “tug of war” game just for gags.

Then came the time for Questions and Answers.
Question: How do you get children into your orphanage?
Answer: We get them through the police and other good citizens who find them and bring them to us. Some their parents bring them and that way they sign an agreement with the home.

Question: How do you take care of those that have reached the stage of puberty? 
Answer: They have already been trained on how to take good care of themselves, most times we don’t know they are on until they come to request for sanitary pads, and the take good care of themselves.
Questions: Is there room for adoption?
Answer: NO, we do not give room for adoption

Question: Why?
Answer: The reason is because we don’t want our children to fall into wrong hands, so to safe guard them we ensure that they are not adopted, instead we take good care of them.
Question: Why did you change the name of the orphanage?
Answer: The name was changed due to the registration we went for at the federal level, we were told that a lot of orphanage home bears “Hope Orphanage”, so we decided to change ours to “Hope Motherless Babies Home”

In conlusion, Comr. Adebayo Kayode presented gifts and token of cash to the  orphanage home. 
He said "it is high time we identify with orphans in order for them to have a sense of belonging".

He challenged well-meaning Nigerians to contribute their quota towards the well-being of orphans.
