Insouciant attitude believed to be displayed by the student Union government as regard the welfare director in FPA
FPA PRESS UPDATE
May 6th, 2019.
It is amazing to note that the Welfare Director is yet to resume his office since the inauguration which was held on October 30th, 2018 in a reports made available to VAM News.
Meanwhile, there are rumours circulating the campus concerning how the Welfare Director has written to go on a 6 months sabbatical leave. If this is true, we think the sabbatical leave has come to an end since March.
Welfarism should be about human rights, not just benefits. A Welfare Director has the privilege to support students during a crucial part of their growing years and to play a big part in deciding their future.
Students Union leaders must now begin to realize that the real Aluta is more than just securing power in the immediate environment but in securing a future for the students that are under their watch.
However, the executives of the Student Union Government must not forget that accountability and transparency is required and must be pursued with every form of integrity and honesty that would facilitate effective representation.
In view of this, the general public would love it if the Welfare Director resumes to his office and if he fails, it is advisable a step to choose another one is taken.
