“What is wrong with you Johnson” She said sitting closer to him before the teacher for the next period will arrive.

 “I am fine” He managed to say as he tried hard to wipe his tears.
“Johnson you are crying?” She asked out of curiosity which got to the wrong side of
Johnson.

“And I said I am fine, leave me alone!!!!” He found himself screaming uncontrollably. It
was a very embarrassing moment for Olaitan and it felt like the world should just come to an end that minute. The whole class turned to look at them. Some of the ladies that were jealous of her closeness to Johnson started smiling while some were unconsciously laughing.

“I am sorry” She said with a trembling voice as she stood up to sit elsewhere, just then, the
Economics teacher came in to take his period.
Olaitan could not concentrate on the topic being taught as her attention was focused on what could be wrong with Johnson. And there was Johnson, not even in class at all.

Back at Mrs Jegede’s shop was Mrs. Jegede useless. She could not lay her hands on
anything. She could not stop herself from thinking about it. This was the second time she will be raped. The first time was on her wedding night, a secret she and her late husband has refused to make open to anyone. The product of the rape was Johnson. Her husband made her keep the bitter pregnancy because he was diagnosed to be infertile, a result he refused to let her wife know about
till he died.

And now another rape occurrence. She could not bring herself to accepting the reality
of what has just happened to her again. She was eager to get the results of all the tests before she could decide her next move.

“Hi” Mr. David said
“Oh hi, come in” She invited him in to sit down.
“Wait, or are you Mrs. Jegede?”
“Yes, why did you ask?”
“I was the one that called you yesterday night as Johnson’s class teacher”

“Oh! Mr. David?”
“Yes ma”
“Please remove the ma, you can just call me Florence”
“Oh okay, then you can just address me as David as well”.

They went on talking until, David was finally able to bring out the hidden beautiful smile
on her face, and she could not help but just smile because David seemed to be a little bit funny.

He agreed to help her out with the delivery of some orders that fell to the time he will be finishing
at work. Later the same day, without doing anything, they headed to Florence’s place to have
lunch.

It was closing time, and Johnson did not wait a second before he ran out of the class to go
home. Olaitan tried her best to get his attention but it was all abortive. She left frustrated and more embarrassed, but her hopes were high that the following day will be better, probably.

Johnson would have come back to his right state of mind.
He was surprised at the same time worried not finding his mom at shop. He did not bother to check any further, he headed home immediately.

He was surprised to see his class teacher in his
house but he was able to hide his surprise because he was not ready to create a scene. He greeted them and he was warmly welcomed. The sight of him brought back the memories to Florence but she was able to put everything under control.

Florence watched the two men talk about school and classes and after some time, David
was set to leave. Florence asked Johnson to see him off.
“What was he doing here?” Johnson said immediately he was back.

“It is a long story dear, all thanks to him, maybe you would have come to meet me at the
hospital”
“Okay then, sure you are shaa good now mom”
“Yes sure, went for tests today and I guess everything is under control”.

“Sorry mom, promise to make it a secret between us and by the grace of God, wherever I
set my eyes on those demonic individuals, I am so going to revenge.” He furiously said, but Florence understanding what was going on in his mind got closer to him and calmed him, assuring him that all will be well.

Days passed, Mrs. Jegede eventually made the cake for Dr. Aina after she revealed what
his wife has made her go through, he apologized and made his wife do the same. They once again
became friends to the surprise of the neighbors. Mrs. Aina learnt her lesson of not believing everything third party say to her anymore.

Mr. David became a large part of the family as he frequently visited the single mom and
her son almost on daily basis since there was no one to keep him busy any longer.

Johnson could not believe the sudden paradigm shift in their used to be lonely lives ever since the demise of his father. He became very comfortable with Mr. David to the point of sharing secrets with him except the ones between him and his mom which he has promised never to allow see the light of the day.

Third term exams were over and Johnson will now be an SSS3 student and surprisingly he
was made the Senior Prefect Boy which further boosted his desire in the heart of Olaitan whom
they are now back to their normal friendship terms. Olaitan was trying as hard as possible to ask him out but there he was insensitive to the body languages of Olaitan.

Just when everything seemed to be alright, Mrs. Jegede after a very long time of delaying
her visit to Mr. David’s place the second time decided to give him a surprise visit at his place on a Saturday evening without informing him when Johnson has gone out to observe some moments of relaxation with his friends in the area.

They have become so close that there was hardly a secret
between them except for the one between him and her son. The last time she was there, it was a
fun moment as they both laughed away their sorrows, David shared his love failure stories and Florence just consoled him while being careful not to allow anything intimate to happen between
them even though it became very hard at some point that she had to pull off because they were both getting carried away.

Her morale was punctured upon getting to her destination.
