BEING A COMMUNIQUE CONGRATULATING ALL DULY ELECTED CANDIDATES IN THE JUST CONCLUDED 2019 GUBERNATORIAL AND HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN STATES OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND WARNING TO INEC ON INCONCLUSIVE ELECTIONS By IYLN, The Intellectual Young Leaders Network (IYLN) under the leadership of her amiable Chairman, Comrade Prince Adams Akinola wishes to congratulate all Gubernatorial and House assembly candidates especially those returned and elected, having satisfied the proper dictates of the electoral law as stipulated in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a further statement made available to VoiceAirMedia NewsOnline, the IYLN wishes to reiterate that election is not a do or die affair and as the electorates have expressed their goodwill and believe in certain candidates by voting them into office to serve and represent them in certain quarters, candidates who are elected should seize that avenue to ensure that the Nigerian democratic institution is revitalised and not allowed to come short of the global standard.
In furtherance, candidates who lost should not see the result as a tool to ferment crisis or be made to be agent of unpatriotic and undemocratic practices such as rioting, maiming, kidnapping and killing, hence they should see the decision of the electorates as an avenue to prepare them for a better task and to embark on legal strategies ahead in such that if they re contest in another 4years, they may come victorious and be able to serve their people like others.
However, as a Senatorial candidate in the last Presidential and National Assembly election, I make sure that l attended presentations of the certificate of return to the winners and l discovered that all the winners came with their wife, children and reliable friends and no one invited their thugs and sons and daughters including the winners became friends at the same sport.
Therefore , IYLN want to sternly warn youths nationwide to desist from nonchalant attitude and being used as agents of destruction to have a bad name and possibly replace with their child, also If youths are allowed to be used as tools by the political class, the assertion of youths being the leaders of tomorrow would only be a mirage after many would have been killed in the process of thuggery and other violent activities in support of their political leaders who kept their children abroad but using youths to pursue their ambitions which most times leads to death and many destinies cut short. We however advice that youths should patriotically dispose themselves to activities that are godly, noble and just as we look forward to building a lasting legacy for this generation and the ones to come, as IYLN now embarks on youth mobilisations for social activities engagement to select those that are really fits and qualify in all ramifications to occupy political position come 2023 to defend our interest and build a united Nigeria.
Also, IYLN expresses her disappointment on states where their elections were marred by gross misconduct and irregularities leading to break down of law and order.
A prominent instance are Oyo State, Rivers State and Kaduna State which are significant for the nation to read about; if issues like this persist, they are not just threat to our democracy but also have long lasting negative effect on our future election.
As we experienced in Lagos where, voters apathy was prevalent, these are decadence and anti-democratic agents that are resultant to ills in the country's polity , the militarisation of electoral system and clear decision against the will of electorates in the states like Rivers, Sokoto, Kano, Bauchi, Adamawa, Plateau and Benue should be reconsidered by federal government, Nigeria military and other security Agents and the stakeholders in Nigeria project should sees this as a serious issue in a multiparty democratic system country like ours. As 23th of March 2019 is around the corner for supplementary elections in some states, we urge the Independent National Electoral Commision (INEC) to please be just, neutral and unattached in the discharge of their duty.
The INEC should know that altering one end of the faith reposed in her by the citizenry would definitely affect their integrity and also dent the nation's face locally and internationally. Hence, we advice that Nigerians remain peaceful, expectant and committed to One Nigeria and in states where elections were declared inconclusive, their electorates should remain calm, hopeful and also troop out exodusly to vote candidates of their choice as the will of the citizens would prevail at the end without any inconclusive pronouncement. Going by foreign observers reports , no doubt the IYLN have concluded that, inconclusive elections may give Nigeria electoral system a bad name because 85% of it's factors are purely a collaborations between the INEC and highest paid political party to secure a certain position or states and this hugely situation no how must involve extra budget in billions for the rerun to conclude such election, as we can see now, that 4.3 billions is another allocation to be utilized by INEC on five states and 32 supplementary National Assembly elections which is a waste.
INEC, Please let's there be NO INCONCLUSIVE ELECTION AGAIN, because our 4.6 billions Naira can empowered ninety two thousand (92,000) unemployed Nigerians at #500,000 per heads as entrepreneur and Nigeria will plough back gain through the payment of #1,000 tax monthly which is #12,000 x 92,000 for Nigeria to have #110,400,000 annually and mandate the beneficiaries to return the startup capital after six years.
We call on INEC that any attempt or signal that payment of Ad-hoc staff as agreed is not realistic, may affect the process, therefore payment of 2/3 before the exercise is ideal for a good service delivery.
As we pray for a successful election , we call on all the legitimate security agents in conducts of election to please make sure that life and prosperity are truly protects and work inline according to the best security practice that devoid biasness but base on equal protections to the citizens therefore, any death in the coming election as a result of insecurity the DPO and Commissioner of Police including the NSCDC boss of the affect local government and state should resign before we engage them on a legal battle, because enough of NYSC and other innocent electorates due to security negligence despite the good salary and special duties allowance.
Conclusively, crisis in any state is a crisis in Nigeria and sustaining peaceful coexistence of the people is a pride of the Nation and a through symbol of united Nigeria.
God Bless IYLN.
God Bless Nigeria.
Signed Comrade Olabode Olalekan.
National Deputy Publicity & Mobilization Secretary. *+234(0)08108554801* For The National Chairman, IYLN Comrade Prince Akinola Adams +234(0)8064474949.
