Pensioners man
Addressing newsmen in Orogun community after a meeting, Dudwell Wanogho listed those affected to include pensioners verified to have retired after 10 to 15 years of service, Reports obtained by VoiceAirMedia NewsOnline.
Wanogho said: “Our verification was carried out at the Military Pension Board since December 2015 and we were assured that the commencement of the payment of our pension would be with immediate effect.
“Since that time, we have not heard from the board.
Our pension effective dates for the backlog of our pension range from 1979 to 1980.
“As we speak, most of us are now peasant farmers, while others live in penury. Some have even died in the process of waiting for their pension.”
