Re - The voice of Nigerian students in the change movement of 2015.

We have laboured so much but reaped little, our sonorous voices have been relegated to the lowest of the low.
The seemed change agenda started as far back as 2014 with little patronage and acceptance from Nigerians at large. Luckily enough for its crusaders, Nigerian students considered it wise to accept and embrace the movement in year 2015.

For being good student of history, you would recall that on the 24th January, 2015 the All Progressive Congress Presidential candidate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari visited Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State as part of his campaign rallies in the buildup to presidential election. Comr. Ogunkade Tosin (Jasper) former Vice President of National Association of Nigerian Students, who is an indigene of the state mobilized massively to the venue and was invited to the podium to address the aggrieved crowd on behalf of the Nigerian Students who he affirmed had rejected the people's Democratic Party candidate Dr Goodluck Jonathan.
During the rally, he reminded the student populace of few polytechnics who spent nine months at home while university students spent nothing less than thirteen months at home as a result of the lackadaisical attitude of the government of the day. He forged ahead to reminding the students of the fake promises of job creation, the most painful saga was the aborted immigration recruitment of Abuja, immediately Nigerian students heard this they sang the song titled "Another challenge, double challenge ...."

Sequel to the declaration of support, students were attacked by thugs who unleashed uncurbed angst and terror on them, some were killed while many had severe injuries. Amidst sorrows, tears and pains the change was achieved in 2015, the then Governor of Ekiti State arrested students over Buhari's rally and official declaration of support. The rhetorical question now is that, how far has the change benefitted Nigerian students and youths?

Nigerian Youths and Students decides 2019

Based on the statistical analysis of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over 40 million people within the age of 18-35 registered for the Permanent Voter's Card (PVC), it is certain that majority of people under the category above are students. Therefore, it is high time we harness our teeming population to safe our future from the shackles of petty politicians who does not have what it takes to lead right. "Inability to make decisions is one of the principal reasons executives fail.

Deficiency in decision-making ranks much higher than lack of specific knowledge or technical know-how as an indicator of leadership future" - John C. Maxwell.
The deficiency in  decision-making of the present administration leading us as a country is clamorous, ranging from power tussle to black and white policies without implementation.
Presently, academic staff union of universities and academic staff union of polytechnics are on indefinite strike, it is a pity that Nigerian students are at the receiving end.
Unfortunately for us, our government lack the sophisticated machinery to manage Nigerian workers, this has been seen overtime, several meetings that were held ended at deadlock.

Hence, I implore the teeming populace of Nigerian students from zonal, Joint Campus Committee State axis, student union government and other organs of student body to put their houses in order as we all plan a mass rally to crusade our interest as 2019 general election is approaching.
Bear in mind, what you did not stop will stop you sooner, what you decided not to kill may kill you and the interest you vilipend maybe intercepted in an indelible manner.

Aluta viva....
