THE RESULT YIELDED AS A RESULT OF THE NANS JCC DELTA STATE MEGA PROTEST

THE STRUGGLE SO FAR, THE RESULT YIELDED AS A RESULT OF THE NANS JCC DELTA STATE MEGA PROTEST

Injustice anywhere is a threat of justice everywhere, as keeping silence in the face of corruption is the highest sin against man.

I bring to you greetings of solidarity from the over 1.7 million armless Nigerian Students studying in all citadel of learning in the state.

Recall the leadership of NANS /JCC under my watch notified the general public and particularly the Nigerian students of our decisions to carry out a marathon mega 1million man match protest, to demand for justice as a Nigeria Police shot to death one of our student.

The protest which starting point was federal college junction, and later proceeded to Koka junction down to summit junction, down to interbau roundabout, to government house, police headquarters and FMC was indeed a successful one as the leadership was able to meet with appropriate quarters confirmed by VoiceAirMedia reporter.

Recall during the protest, the leadership met with the commissioner of police and our demands were made known to him, the state government and the general public.

In spirit of demanding justice take it place, the following was achieved;

1. The police officer who murdered the students have been detained, as investigations are ongoing, and if found guilty, will be dismissed and send to jail.

2. The leadership of NANS /JCC and the force men led by the commissioner of police, met with the hospital board, and the doctor confirmed to us that the other who survived the gun shot is in good condition and stable, but needed a deposit of the sum of #200,000 for treatment, immediately the state Governor, Sen Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa sent down the CSO to the government house, and the money was deposited by the state government, as the state Governor. ordered that the best treatment should be served to him as the state government will foot the bills, in same vein the commissioner of police also presented the sum of #100,000 to his family for upkeep.

3. The state government took care of the bills of the dead victim at the morgue.

4. The police issue an official statement on the incident, as demanded by the Nigerian Students.

5. The police setup a joint committee to reach out to the family of the deceased.

As part of my campaign promises of giving back power to the students, giving them voice as NANS is the voice of the voiceless and harmless Nigerian students, I seize this medium to appreciate the Nigerian students who came out in their good numbers for this struggle.

In same vein, I must appreciate the SUG Presidents of various institutions who joined us in solidarity, not also forgetting our sister union NADESSTU, thanks so much for the solidarity.

Inline with the aim of the rebirth campaign that allows the leadership to partner with well meaningful and positive minded NGOs, I wish to appreciate the Revive Africa Initiative and the Behind Bar Initiative for their solidarity, NANS /JCC under my watch is always ready in partnering with your NGOs.

I must appreciate the PA to the Governor on Students, for his efforts not also forgetting to thank the SA Students to the Governor for his support.

I also appreciate the leadership of NANS Zone B for their intervention, as we are following the laid down roadmap of the Team Bishop bringing back NANS to Campus.

To the men of the press, men of good will and sympathizers and those I forget to list, I say thank you.

In same vein, I wish to reaafirm the Nigerian students that their overall interest is my utmost priority, hence I will not compromise any day for the mandate given to me to serve the Nigerian Students.

Conclusively, it has been brought to my notice of some unscrupulous imposter(s), parading themselves as NANS /JCC officials, please it's important and pertinent I address the issue.

Nigerian Students please know your enemies, and haters of the struggle, as I and my executive council members are committed to protecting and projecting the legitimate right of the Nigerian students, hence we shall not be distracted by distractor, witch-hunters and enemies of the association, hence the general public and particularly the Nigerian students should as matter of urgency disregard and disbunk any information that is tantamount of misleading, as consultations are on high gear to ensure the imposter(s) are been brought to book and face sanctions.

Finally I thank the state Governor for his swift intervention and listening ears, and also to the Nigeria police force Delta State command led by the commissioner of police for their prompt response to this issue.

While we still go on wider consultations in regards of late Comr Henry Nweke, I ask us to remain resolute, peaceful and calm in all our dealings as we will keep you updated as we progress.
