Barcelona Confirm Lionel Messi Will Miss Three Weeks Due To Injury
Barcelona have confirmed that forward Lionel Messi will be unable to play for at least three weeks after an injury to his arm a report received by VoiceAirMedia.
Messi went down on his arm in the first half of Barcelona’s match against Sevilla.
After being taken off, reports say Messi would go to the hospital for further checks.
The scans have showed that Messi broke his arm and will be out of football for at least three weeks.
Messi had already provided the assist for Phillipe Coutinho's goal last night in the 2nd minute of the match at the Camp Nou.
And just before the 30th minute mark, he scored to double Barcelona’s Lead.
But just minutes after scoring, Messi fell awkwardly, seemingly landing on his outstretched arm as he attempted to cushion his fall.
The Argentine star looked to be in agony as he was dragged off the pitch by two members of medical staff.
Barcelona have now confirmed he will be out for three weeks.
A Barcelona statement read:
“Tests carried out on the first team player Leo Messi have confirmed that he has a fracture of the radial bone in his right arm.
“He will be out for approximately three weeks. #FuerzaLeo”
Lionel Messi will now the Champions League match against Inter Milan, also El-Clasico Vs Real Madrid and a host of matches.
This means that next Saturday's El Clasico will be one of the first in recent memory to not involve either Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, Barcelona won their match 4-2 against Sevilla despite Messi's injury in the first half.
